Hi. My name is Paula and I am just starting out in the MA/Ed Tech program. I hold an AAS/Legal Assistant from Macomb and a BS/Elementary Ed from Wayne State University. I was a legal assistant at a major Detroit law firm for 10 years and was fortunate enough to leave the work world to raise my two children. I had always wanted to teach, so during that time I went back to school and earned my BS. I taught supplemental reading for one year and was bumped out of my position because of layoffs. I then subbed for a year and hated every minute of it. During that time, my husband lost his job and I needed to find full-time employment with benefits. Fate intervened and a position at Central Michigan University's Off-Campus Programs opened up. I took that position and have been here for the last three years. I miss being around elementary-age kids, but I enjoy helping adult students attain their goals. Since I have one child at main campus in Mt. Pleasant and the other joining him next fall, here I am back in school! I look forward to working with you all.
